Tarik Al Ghafri is a leading expert in sustainable and integrated solid waste management, circular economy, material recovery, business development, and environmental management.
Presently, Tarik is a project analyst at the Implementation Support and Follow-up Unit (ISFU) supporting the development of national plans and identifying high impact projects aligned to the national waste management sector’s strategy for implementation.
Tarik is a Business Development Specialist, focused on supporting the end-to-end development of assigned recovered material and special waste streams, including planning, feasibility assessment, incubation, operational support and eventual handover to the technical sector.
Formerly, he held an Environmental Executive role whereby he managed the implementation of environmental and sustainability strategies and plans by supporting the development, communication, and implementation of internal policies and guidelines, and monitoring to ensure adherence.
Tarik has worked at GEO Resources as an Associate Environmental Consultant and Field Environmental Officer. He provided assessment and advisory services for various clients on matters pertaining to the management of environmental issues, evaluating current environmental policies, managing systems and processes through audits and monitoring programs.
